The History of the American Alligator
We’ll take you back to the days of the dinosaurs, where the journey of the American Alligator began. Then, moving forward to the present, discussing the 23 species of crocodilian. You’ll have the opportunity to get up close with a Nile Crocodile and even see the teeth and claws of one of our baby American Alligators.
The Alligator Ranching Program
You’ll learn why the Louisiana Alligator Ranching program was created and how it benefits the American Alligator as a species. We’ll explain how this amazing program even helps to preserve Louisiana’s wetlands from Coastal Erosion! We’ll help you understand how the protection of American Alligators has become the world renowned sustainable use story. We’ll show you first hand what an Alligator nest looks like. How we spot them in the marsh, while collecting the Alligator eggs. Then you’ll learn how we can control whether an alligator becomes a boy or a girl and increase the speed that they grow.

Tour through our Temperature Controlled Barns
Your guide will take you through our temperature controlled Alligator barns, where you will get to watch them eat the food that you feed. You’ll see Alligators ranging in size from under 2 feet to 8 feet. These alligators are as young as babies and as old as 5 – 6 years of age. Your guide will get into the water with our Alligators and catch a 4-footer for your group to take a closer look. When he does, please don’t forget to wish him luck.
The Anatomy of the American Alligator
We’ll teach you about the Alligator’s impressive physical traits benefiting their survival since the days of the dinosaurs. Your guide will show you the triple eyelid, the ears, the scutes on the back, the belly scales, the nostrils. You’ll then have the opportunity to touch one of our 4-foot beasts, while under the control of your experienced guide. Now you can feel the skin and bony scutes of the back! For the really brave, you can lift his ear flap, and even touch his teeth.
